Perfect OEM replacement

Since my original alternator died after 17 years and 175k miles. I thought a direct replacement would be the best. Since rebuilt Bosch Alternators cost about the same or more from other on line VW parts website. Amazon had a brand new for less. It was a pain to replace but saved a few bucks. You will have to lift the motor up a few inches to clear the chassis for removal. But since your doing that. Change out the water pump at the same time.
