This is a really handy little item for my pontoon boat; I can store extra sets of plugs should I need a set on the fly (I foul a set maybe)The spring loaded mechanism means you can store multiple sizes, and the item overall seems very well built. The included rivets are a nice touch - I WILL use them when I mount these.However, these items don't provide protection from the elements save for maybe some splash deterrence. In a saltwater environment, I would vastly prefer to leave my plugs in their 'sleeve' from when I purchased then just so they wouldn't be exposed to the salty air.So if you aren't worried about premature corrosion/degradation of the electrodes on your spare plugs (this may not be a legitimate concern, I'm just erring on the side of caution), then buy with confidence - it will come in handy. But don't be disappointed when after a year or 2 your plugs have rusted; its inevitable in a marine environment
