Thread repair inserts

I have used these KD solid-machined (non-coiled) inserts in the past. Other than (in my experiences) being more prone to coming back out than Heli-Coil type inserts, these hold up fine and are a viable thread repair alternative, particularly when a new spark plug gasket seat is needed. By the way, the "coming back out" comment should be taken in context: When properly installed, the incidence of any reputable insert failing is quite low. These are a good insert at a fair price. NOTE: Be aware that a special tap is needed to install these, so figure this cost into your first purchase.
